Baby & Me Yoga

Tuesdays, 9:00 - 10:00 AM

Led by Dr. Savannah Carlson, PT, DPT, RYT-200, Women’s Health Physical Therapist (she/her)

Move, breathe, and connect in a safe and supportive way with your baby at your side. This yoga class is designed to meet the needs of your postpartum body while you navigate the 4th trimester and beyond.

For the first half of class, you are invited to wear your baby for standing poses that build lower body strength, balance, and mobility. For the second half, we move to the floor for core work, stretches, and relaxation. Each movement is offered with modifications to both level down and level up depending on the needs of your body. Props are used throughout the class to provide extra support. No yoga experience is required.

We know that babies are unpredictable. You are welcome to feed, change, and comfort your baby at any time during class.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I come if I am pregnant or do not have my baby with me?

Absolutely! This class is beneficial for pregnant people as well as people who have given birth. Just be prepared for a class format that is designed to support people who come with their babies.

I’ve never worn my baby in a sling or a carrier before. Can you help me?

Yes, Dr. Savannah is experienced in baby wearing and happy to help you with your sling/carrier and with positioning your baby safely and comfortably. You are also welcome to let your baby rest/play on a blanket or mat throughout the class if you prefer.

Can I come to class if I am less than 6-weeks postpartum?

The short answer is “yes” and the long answer is “it depends.” Readiness for returning to physical activity postpartum varies person to person and is based on symptoms, such as bleeding and pain. If you have any concerns about whether or not you are ready for class, please email your instructor, Dr. Savannah, at hello@rheaphysicaltherapy.xyz. Dr. Savannah is a pelvic PT and certified prenatal/postpartum fitness coach; she will be able to help you determine if you are ready for class based on your current symptoms and activity level.

    Full & Partial Scholarships

At Empowered Spaces, we believe healing spaces must be intentionally accessible—not just in theory, but in practice. Our Equity Scholarships prioritize access for Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BI&POC), as well as others who have faced systemic or financial barriers to participating in yoga and other healing modalities. This is part of our ongoing commitment to equity, collective care, and justice-rooted healing. To inquire about the Empowered Spaces Equity Scholarship, please contact Kelly at kkcaul@yahoo.com.
