Our Roots & How We Show UpWho We Are
Our Roots
Empowered Spaces grew from a simple truth —
that healing and belonging are inseparable.
Founded in 2018 by Kelly Caul, MSW, LCSW, SEP, a somatic trauma therapist with a vision to create a space where individual and collective healing could coexist.
We are a collective of integrative psychotherapists, trauma specialists, licensed massage therapists, yoga teachers & yoga therapists, meditation teachers, and community healers— all tending to the same vision: a world where care is embodied, equitable, and accessible to all.
From our therapy rooms to our community garden, we root our work in the understanding that trauma lives in bodies, communities, and systems — and healing must honor both the personal and the collective.
We draw from decades of trauma-healing and somatic expertise — integrating practices like Somatic Experiencing (SE), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, and mindfulness-based approaches —
but above all, our work is guided by relationship: the attunement, consent, and presence that make healing possible.
Rooted in Community:
What It Means to Be a Collective
While we share values and trauma-informed, justice-rooted practices, each practitioner owns and operates their own independent healing practice within our space.
We collaborate, learn from each other, and contribute to a shared culture of embodied, equitable care.
To nurture connection, resilience, and healing — individually and collectively.
Through trauma-informed and integrative care, we’re growing a culture of belonging that is accessible, equitable, and rooted in justice.
Our Mission
Our Vision
A world where healing is collective, justice is embodied, and care is woven into everyday life —
a world that honors interdependence, celebrates diversity, and allows everyone to live with dignity, joy, and wellness.
We are Values-Based and Purpose-Driven
-
Every part of you is welcome here.
We honor your inherent worth and hold space for you to be seen and valued — just as you are. -
Your body is wise.
Through somatic and nervous-system-informed care, we support you in reconnecting with your body’s signals and trusting your inner knowing. -
You have agency.
We center your autonomy, your choices, and your capacity to lead your own healing in ways that align with your needs and values. -
Healing is relational.
We cultivate spaces of trust, care, and mutual support — because we heal more deeply when we show up for one another. -
Healing is personal and political.
We recognize the impact of systems on our bodies and lives, and we root our work in practices that advance equity, dignity, and collective liberation.
How We Show Up
Practicing care as a way of being.
We lead with attunement and authenticity. You are the expert of your own experience; we walk with you, not ahead of you.
Relational Presence
Justice and belonging guide how we organize, price, collaborate, and share space. Equity isn’t a value we name — it’s one we practice.
Equity in Action
Our work is somatic and holistic, supporting you in reconnecting with the intelligence of your body and cultivating safety, agency, and transformation.
Embodied Practice
Healing extends beyond individual sessions. Through gatherings, the garden, and collective offerings, we practice mutual aid and build a culture of care that resists harm and grows resilience.
Community Care
We strive to make every space physically, emotionally, and culturally accessible, honoring the systems, identities, and stories that shape your life.
Compassion-focused and Intentionally Inclusive
