Music Therapy
Free Support Group for Survivors of Sexual or Intimate Partner Violence
An Angel Band Project Workshop
Tuesdays 7:00 - 8:30 PM
September 22 - November 10
This Angel Band Project Workshop is a FREE music therapy group for survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence. No musical experience necessary.
This trauma-informed, private group is led by a board-certified music therapist from The Angel Band Project (a national non-profit that supports those impacted by sexual violence; learn more about us at AngelBandProject.org).
Together, we’ll explore music as an anchor for grounding, expression, and connection - through activities like listening, reflecting, music-making or songwriting - within a safe and respectful community space. No musical experience is required, and participation is always to your comfort level. Must be 18 or older.
The Angel Band Project's music therapy workshops for those impacted by sexual assault or intimate partner violence are built around trauma informed principles. Rather than focusing on recounting painful experiences, the workshop sessions will focus on
restoring steadiness,
connection, and
personal agency through music.
Each session is intentionally structured so that music becomes an anchor, something you can return to when emotions feel overwhelming or when words are difficult to find. Healing unfolds in the sessions not through pressure or performance, but through safety, choice, and community.
Please plan to attend all sessions in the series as this supports the therapeutic experience for all.
WHAT PAST PARTICIPANTS ARE SAYING:
“I could open up & be myself without being judged.”
“I reconnected with my love of music.”
“I loved expressing myself & finding community.”
