Expressive Movement Guide

I come to Empowered Spaces with an extensive background in both individual and group therapy, mindfulness training, and expressive movement workshops. My primary desire, which has been with me for as long as I can remember, is to invite, offer, guide, and advocate for individuals to reach their desires and aspirations through therapy and movement.

Sometimes grief and loss get stuck in the body, increasing suffering and stalling progress. In my private therapy practice, Healing Journeys LLC, I employ Expressive Movement sessions which use the power of movement, breath, and sound to inspire people to release the pain and suffering in order to connect to love, healing, harmony, and peace: a compassionate transformation.

As early as my enrollment in The Brown School of Social Work at Washington University, I was an assistant in their courses on Death and Dying. In addition to my MSW from Washington University, I have been trained as a Grief Educator Guide by Paul Dennison, founder of Grief Yoga, and David Kessler, founder of Grief.com. Because of my training, I provide guided grief/expressive movement sessions for groups and individuals and have been invited to visit area therapy practices as well as grief and support groups to provide Expressive Movement sessions.

I listen with a compassionate heart and a non-judgmental stance in order to offer a safe and confidential space for people to express, identify, grow, evolve, and become still inside as they work their way toward self-compassion, understanding, peace, resolve, confidence, and belonging.
