A Day of Healing & Collective Care

Join Empowered Spaces for a day of embodied solidarity with immigrant communities here at home and in Minneapolis. The Empowered Spaces collective is coming together to offer a full day of movement, mindfulness, nervous system-guided practices to foster connection, care, compassion, and collective resilience.

This gathering is rooted in the understanding that healing and justice are inseparable—and that showing up together matters.

Attendance is donation-based, and 100% of donations will go to support our immigrant neighbors and the efforts of those who advocate for them both here in St. Louis and in Minneapolis. Come for one class, or stay for the whole day! No experience is necessary. All bodies are welcome.

9:00 Sound for Solidarity and Healing with Gayla (60 mins)

  • A sound healing session that invites you to listen and notice what feels most supportive for your nervous system while we stand together in solidarity for dignity, safety and community. You will be guided through grounding practices and an immersive sound journey. You are welcome to rest in stillness or move and stretch.

10:30 Slow Flow Yoga with Franca (60 mins) 

  • Come move with intention and awareness, allowing movement and breath to make space in our bodies, hearts, and minds. 

12:00 Slow Flow Yoga with Rieko (45 mins) 

  • A gentle and grounding practice to remember our bodies and to hold space for where we are here and now. 

1:15 Hot Stone Meditation and Savasana with Alicia (45 mins)

  • Explore grounding self-massage and deep rest with hot basalt stones. The soothing warmth and weight of these stones opens us to settle, clear, and feel our way through what is on the heart.

2:30 Awareness Through Movement® (Feldenkrais Method) with Kelly F (60 mins)

  • Awareness Through Movement® (ATM), the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education, is a practice of learning yourself and your habits through gentle movement puzzles. The process of ATM helps you know yourself better, so that you can show up in life with embodied options.

4:00 Restorative Yoga and Meditation with Kelly M (60 mins)

  • Restful yoga supported by props and a healing meditation to nurture our minds and hearts.

Virtual Offering: For those who cannot be present in-person, but would like to join in solidarity with our cause, Nae Tate of Heartful Remedies is offering a pre-recorded mini-workshop. This virtual offering teaches about creative wellness, solidarity, and social location. Register below to receive the video, coloring sheets, and worksheets. 

Pre-registration for in-person offerings is highly recommended, as space is limited. Complete your registration below for both the in-person classes and the virtual offering.

Donations will be taken at the door via QR code, cash, or check.

Please arrive 10 mins early if able to allow time to make your donation and get settled in the studio. 

Health and Safety Precautions:

We value community care and showing up for one another. Currently: Masks are optional. Please stay home if you have symptoms, test positive, or were exposed to someone with COVID-19. We use a HEPA air purifier in the studio. If anyone would like to participate and would only feel comfortable if everyone is masked, please email Kelly kkcaul@yahoo.com.

The Empowered Spaces studio is located on the ground floor. There is a 12-car parking lot adjacent to the studio & additional free parking on neighborhood streets. Restroom is gender neutral, wheelchair-accessible and ramp-accessible in the main building.
