inter-rhythms
Sunday, August 16, 9:00 - 11:00AM
Led by pax reese (they/them)
This offering is an invitation to follow the deep rhythms of your breath, body and the interweaving rhythms of Life around us.
We'll share light, connected breath, and practice interoception and subtly expand our awareness into a cooperative experience of 'the Pulse' imbedded in all matter; the dirt, worms, trees, water, & each other.
The intention of this space as it relates to our eco-caretaking is to carry our entanglement with the Pulse into our tending in the garden, and beyond into our shared worlds.
Join us from 9:00 - 10:15 am join us for gardening in the Empowered Spaces Community Garden, and then the workshop practice will begin at 10:15am.
These workshops are free to our community garden members, and donation based to the larger community - pay what you can, if you can. 100% of all donations go to supporting the garden and our Collaborative Food Share Program. Donations can be made at the workshop, or via Venmo or Paypal.
In The Garden are a series of workshops in the Empowered Spaces Community Garden that explore integrative justice driven approaches to embodiment, mental health, and wellness, both individually and collectively.
The Empowered Spaces Community Garden is located at the heart of our holistic healing center. Our community-led garden is rooted in permaculture principles, perennial agriculture, environmental sustainability, and community care. We believe that food is medicine, that land stewardship is healing, and that everyone—regardless of income—deserves access to nutritious, high-quality food. Through our Collaborative Food Share Program we share the harvest with individuals and families in the community who are in need of access to quality food.
Meet pax
Breathworker, Reiki Practitioner, Ritual Artist, Astrologer, Mentor & Queer Theorist
pax reese (they/them) is a queer healer specializing in breathwork, energy healing, astrology, and ritual building.Their practice is informed by abolitionist practices, non-hierarchy, and anti-carceral carework. pax prioritizes cultivating presence, inner world exploration and good relationality.
They hold the belief that showing up for the Body is a radical way to show up for the world. Namely, that the Body is intelligent, communicative, and communal. When you start listening for the language of the Body you can engage with the turbulence of the world in a deeper, more meaningful capacity.
pax works in collaboration with SQSH within the STARLING collective of queer healers . They are really excited about honing in on the “micro revolutions of everyday life” and using them to invite humans back down into the raw and unfiltered depth of their Being.
They work across multiple mediums as both an artist and healer; some of their modalities are as a painter, jewelry maker, experimental musician, herbalist, and queer theorist.
They love working with creative folx who want to explore their grief, boundaries, identity, inner/outer conflicts, and reclaim their sovereignty, voice, and presence.
They have a degree in Philosophy, trauma informed certification from the Prison Yoga Project, and have been practicing Breathwork since 2021. Their Breathwork spaces are deeply transformative and radically reject hyper-masculine healing structures/breath practices. pax is most interested in using the Breath as a doorway back into the Body, and therefore into their most creative essence and present self. You can connect with pax on their instagram @ritual.human.
